A Bachmann chassis originally sporting an Underground Ernie body. The main problem with this chassis is its lack of mass, at least without and external body, and the limited space between the bottom of the bogies and the centre rail. A simple spring collector has been fitted to both bogies. It is glued to the ends of the bogie and bent under.
Except for the reduced force down due to the limited mass this arrangement works quite well. This particular example has been modified with extra mass to increase the downward force.
